Posted in Traveler Tips OnA road trip with small children can be nerve racking. Being prepared can make your trip a whole lot more enjoyable. Pack small zip lock bags with light snacks. Pre-portioned snacks keep messes down and are easier for them to handle alone so you’re not reaching around to the back seat. Simple games we all learned as kids occupy their minds and can take up a lot of time. Games like I spy and the license plate game are great games to keep your kids focused and entertained at the same time. Keep a tablet or cell phone handy with games you have selected or videos along with headphones.
Remember to take stops along the way. Select places that your kids can learn from or something that makes them happy. Long trips can be stressful for your children. Before you leave, tell your kids how far you’re going and things they may see along the way. Make it a game, the child that sees the most landmarks wins. Have a small prize for them at the end of the trip. Occupying your kids will make your trip so much easier.
